It was a club AGM with a difference this year at the Waltham Chase Village Hall. Not only was there free biscuits and tea or coffee, but well known chefs, Lynda and Chris – who have prepared field kitchen curries in places such as Helston, Dordogne and Duncton – also prepared a a superb curry with a choice of hot or not so hot for 27 members after the AGM.
The AGM witnessed a unanimous vote to back The Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations (ACCEO) by enrolling all members as personal members. Everyone should have received an email from the Chairman explaining this will mean a total subscription next year of £10, with £5 going to the WCCC and £5 to ACCEO.
There are benefits in as much as those attending the Holiday Rally will not have to pay the 50p a night surcharge – to cover the cost of gaining permission for the rally from the local council – on the site fee next year, thereby saving themselves £5!
Other advantages include three free copies of ACCEO Matters each year and other discounts listed on www.acceo.org.uk.
With an exciting list of rally venues revealed including an as yet unvisited site, members tucked into the curry.
