It was a play-off for first place for the men in the WCCC skittles evening. Battling it out for number one spot, with time running out, were Dave, Barry and Derek. It was Barry who took the prize, while Eve won the ladies and Alf took home the Tow Ball Trophy to look after for a year.
It was a change of venue this year when thirty met at 7pm last Saturday evening at the Waltham Chase Village hall for an evening of fish (or whatever) and chips and skittles, paying their subs and collecting their 2011 Rally Book.
Lynda collected the money for the evening and organised the grub, delivered to the door from Paul’s Plaice, and she and the ladies prepared the hall with paper table cloths and washed up after, while Chris conducted the accompanying background music.
Cyril and Sue donated the raffle prizes which collected a princely £43 for the club, enough to offset the cost of the new burgee on display in the hall.
When the clock struck ten members cleared the skittles alley and stowed the tables and chairs and departed to start preparing their vans for the Easter Rally.
