The huge well mown rally field at White House Farm, Uckfield was so firm that all eight members elected to pitch on it. This was in spite of the hard standing being extended since our last visit as well as the installation of six power hook-ups and night light bollards. Where else can you get all that for £7.50 a night.
The ground remained firm inspite of 12 hours of rain Thursday night through to Friday morning. Thereafter, but for an odd shower, the holiday weekend improved, so much so that members could enjoy a barbecue together on Saturday evening in a clearing at the border of the wood which was out of the wind but lit by the setting sun. Sunday evening members squeezed into Dave and Lyn’s large awing for a jolly repast.
